Rally in Tally Against Offshore Drilling - Friday, April 2 at Noon
Save Our Shores! is organizing a rally in front of the Old Capitol building in Tallahassee on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Noon EST. It will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please bring a sign showing your opposition to drilling. There will also be media coverage for this event. If you work in the downtown area and can make it even for a few moments on lunch break, please try to do so.This is a short notice rally. However, we feel that, in light of the Obama administration's recent campaign flip-flop decision to support opening federal waters to oil and gas exploration and drilling, it is a critical time to convince our state representatives and win public support in opposition of future near-shore drilling which could be as close as 3 miles from Florida beaches.
